The Schenectady Police Department’s Public Information Officers (PIOs) are responsible for providing information to the media and the public.
THE PIO's SPECIFIC DUTIES ARE TO:
- Respond to inquiries from the media and the public
- Respond to inquiries from the media and the public
- Act as the Department’s liaisons to the media
- Inform the media of Department programs and initiatives
- Coordinate and conduct interviews and news conferences with the media
The Department's primary Public Information Officer is Sergeant Mathew Dearing. mdearing@schenectadyny.gov or pio@schenectadyny.gov
FOIL REQUESTS: The PIOs do not fulfill FOIL requests for Department records. FOIL requests for Department records must be directed to the City Clerk, City Hall, 105 Jay Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 – (518)382-5199, x5300 / Fax (518) 382-0030.
