The Energy Improvement Corporation (EIC) provides the Energize New York Open C-PACE Program to property owners who choose to improve upon their property by increasing their energy efficiency or incorporating renewable energy systems.
This program creates an alternative to traditional equity or unsecured loans with Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing. Using PACE financing, a property owner authorizes the municipality where the property is located to add a special assessment to the property that is equivalent to the cost of their energy improvements. This "Benefit Assessment Lien" is repaid through installments over the course of several years. See the infographic below for more information.
