Mayor Gary R. McCarthy Marks Start of Demolition at 720 Crane Street and Completion of First Phase of Orchard Park Redevelopment
When: May 31, 2017
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Where: 720 Crane Street, Schenectady
Details: Mayor Gary McCarthy will be joined by Capital Region Land Bank representatives and other City officials to start the demolition of 720 Crane Street.
This is the final of five demolitions carried out in partnership with the Capital Region Land Bank that are expanding access to Orchard Park, a neighborhood park. The City won a state grant to create improved entrances into Orchard Park, as recommended in the City’s Comprehensive Plan. There were previously only two, narrow entrances to the park, including a narrow walking path and an alley. Through a $354,735 New York State Parks grant, the City will fund a redesign with better access to the park, additional playground equipment, and improved lighting for public safety.
